ACAL Committees

Volunteers are the life blood of a strong community and significant organisations.

ACAL has relied on volunteers for fifty years with countless hours being donated by hundreds of people serving on committees, writing papers, cajoling bureaucrats, attending meetings, preparing responses to government and seemingly endless administrivia.

The effectiveness and longevity of ACAL is the result of its leadership – through strong and capable presidents and executive committee (you vote for them) and willing and active state representatives. Often the committee has had some professional support but the volunteers have been at the heart of action for adult literacy and numeracy.

There are very few photos of committee members but we’ve found some in Literacy Link and our more recent eNews. It’s easy to forget how fiddly and expensive it was to take photos and then prepare them for eventual printing.

Help us add to the list or correct the details.
