Save the Date: Tuesday 8 September, 2026 International Literacy Day!

There will be a commemoration and celebration of 50 years of ACAL on International Literacy Day – Tuesday 8 September, 2026 – in Canberra.

• Morning symposium (9.30am – 2pm) to explore 50 years of ideas and 50 more – venue and details to come.

   

   

• Afternoon tea and get-together at Bruce campus of the Canberra Institute of Technology, commencing approximately 3.30pm.

• Arch Nelson played a major role in placing adult education on the government and public agenda and he was inaugural Chairman of ACAL. This year we are pleased to announce the Arch Nelson address will be given by Sue James.
