Short overviews by members of a panel, chaired by Rosie Wickert:

  • Jeff Evans, Middlesex University, UK – international research in adult numeracy
  • Diana Coben, National Centre of Literacy & Numeracy for Adults, NZ – NZ research in adult literacy and numeracy
  • Lesley Farrell, University of Technology, Sydney – Australian research in adult literacy and numeracy

Panel discussion: Is research informing adult literacy and numeracy practice and policy, and if so, how? What benefits have been gained from research in adult literacy and numeracy and how do we know? ? What research is needed?
