Should we say prisons or corrections? What terminology\u00a0should we use? In this presentation, Dr Ron Wilson, President of the Australasian Corrections Education Association, explains why words matter. Ron poses and answers questions that will make you think about education in a new way: – How does the name of a program impact the way it’s delivered? – What is the relationship between theories about behaviour, the terms we use, and the education we provide? – What do teachers in this environment need?
Ron’s answer to the question ‘Where can teachers get training to work in this system?’ will alarm you!
