ACAL was established in 1976 and is managed by an elected volunteer committee of management.

ACAL is solely funded by membership dues.

ACAL acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the traditional custodians of the lands, skies and waterways across Australia. We would like to pay respect to traditional Elders past, present and emerging. We recognise that we live and work on stolen land and that sovereignty was never ceded. We also acknowledge the right to self-determination and continuing connection to land, waters and culture for Australia’s First Nation peoples.
