This is a contracted casual role between September 2015 and March 2016. The Project Officer will be responsible for the effective implementation of the ACAL portion of the ACAL RaPAL Stories project.
Research and Practice in Adult Literacies (RaPAL) is a UK organisation that focuses on the role of literacies in adult life.
Applications must be received by August 21, 2015
Rate of pay $60 per hour( inc GST).
The fee will cover the provision and use of their own office, computer, adequate Internet connection and relevant software.
The time fraction is dependent on many factors over which ACAL has no control and the work may cease or change at any time. The flow of work is likely to be very uneven and spasmodic.
The Project Officer will inform the ACAL President when the hours worked per month is likely to exceed 20 hours
Applicant will need an ABN to invoice ACAL for hours worked each month.
Liaison with ACAL and state/territory councils, including two ACAL project representatives
Liaison with RaPAL project officer
Managing and monitoring the project against timeline
Dissemination of information
Checking submissions - signed ‘consent forms’ from learners; word lengths; format
Editing/ formatting as appropriate
Uploading stories into central repository, managed by RaPAL, according to an agreed system
Provide written progress reports to each ACAL Committee meeting
Report to the ACAL President.
High level of competence with Its, and willingness and ability to learn new software/ web platforms
Excellent organization and time management skills
Experience as an adult literacy/ numeracy practitioner, or experience of working closely with adult literacy/ numeracy practitioners
Knowledge of the contexts of adult literacy/ numeracy practitioners’ work
Effective written and spoken skills to communicate with adult literacy/ numeracy practitioners, ACAL and state territory council representatives
Project management experience and skills.
The RaPAL Project Off icier may choose to sub-contact specialised work. However this can only be done with the prior approval of the ACAL Committee.
The RaPAL Project Officer will be solely responsible for the cost, output, quality and management of any sub-contractor.
